JOB DESCRIPTION POSTION: BCBA / ABA Program Manager, 12 month position.

REPORTS TO: Principal, Assistant Principal, and Director of Student Support Services.

START DATE: Preferred start date: July 1, 2015. Can start later in the summer of 2015

Bridges Public Charter School is seeking an ABA/VB Program Manager to develop and lead ABA/VB programming in non-categorical self-contained classrooms. Each classroom’s ABA/VB program is specifically designed by the ABA/VB Program Manager to address the classroom’s environment, instruction, and behavior management system. The ABA/VB Program Manager provides direct coaching to the teaching teams to ensure the effectiveness of the classroom’s ABA/VB program. The ABA/VB Program Manager will design and conduct teacher trainings as well provide BCBA supervision. The Program Manager may also use his or her clinical skills to conduct assessments, write behavior plans, and assist teachers in managing student behavior. Finally, the ABA/VB Program Manager also provides training to parents and families of students with special needs. Bridges mission is to provide an exemplary educational program that includes all students. Our developmentally appropriate, student and family-centered educational approach nurtures students to expand their developmental skills, in order to build a foundation for life-long learning. Bridges Public Charter School is expanding into an elementary school program. We will add a grade level each year reaching capacity at 5th grade in the 2017- 2018 school year.

QUALIFICATIONS The ideal candidate will:

§ Masters Degree in Special Education, Education, ABA, or Psychology
§ Board Certified Behavior Analyst
§ Experience in creating and implementing ABA/VB treatment programs.
§ Minimum of 2 years experience teaching students without and with special needs within a school setting.
§ Minimum 2 years experience in providing behavior services (e.g., functional assessment, development and implementation of function-based Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP), treatment evaluation, crisis intervention) to students with autism and other behavioral disorders.
§ Demonstrates advanced understanding of behavioral principles and instructional strategies for students with autism and other behavior disorders.
§ Demonstrates an understanding of the nature of disabilities other than ASD.
§ Demonstrates superior ability to coach/supervise staff members with a variety of skill sets and educational experiences.
§ Demonstrates excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, parents, community members, and staff members.
§ Demonstrates strong skills in partnering with other team members.
§ Be committed to meeting the needs of a diverse student population.
§ Have a track record of being a team player and community minded.
§ Be committed to their own learning.
§ Excellent time-management skills and ability to work independently.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

§ Design, implement and manage evidence-based ABA/VB programming for 4 non-categorical self-contained classrooms. (The number of classrooms will grow each year as a grade level is added. An Assistant ABA/VB Manager will also be added to the school staff in the future.)
§ Develop a system for providing regular coaching and BCBA supervision to classroom teachers.
§ Train and supervise non-cat teams in the following areas: classroom environment and scheduling; planning and instruction; behavior management; and reinforcement.
§ Train teams on the VBMAPP, monitor assessments, and assist teams in applying the results in NET and DTI.
§ Guide classrooms in helping all students develop functional means of communication by creating and/or implementing data collection procedures, assisting and supervising data collection, and interpreting data to develop appropriate language/communication based interventions.
§ Establish and coordinate system for classroom data collection and planning data driven instruction.
§ Conduct assessments, write behavior plans, and provide direct clinical services when necessary.
§ Collaborate with General Education Curriculum Manager and Special Education Coordinator to ensure VB programming is aligned with school wide classroom expectations, instructional guidelines, and federal and local special education regulations.
§ Communicate and coordinate with Director of Student Support Services to ensure school mission, philosophy, and procedures are embraced.
§ Design and conduct professional development series starting at staff orientation and ending at the end of the school year.
§ Design and conduct trainings for parents and families.
§ Build relationships with teachers, students, parents, school leaders, and local leaders.

§ Maintain a high quality of service and high standards for program design, staff development, and instruction provided to students.
§ Ensure all aspects of ABA/VB programming follow and meet best practices from the BCBA board.
§ Engage parents and families in their student’s learning and acting as an ambassador for the school in the community.
§ Contribute productively to the school as a whole.
§ Attend and participate in school events outside of regular school hours.
§ Other duties as assigned.

SALARY & BENEFITS Salary is based on educational level, certification(s), and years of experience. Employees will be contracted yearly. Contracts will be renewed according to evaluations and staff interest. Health benefits (medical & dental), disability insurance, and a retirement plan: 401-(k) or the continuation of the DCPS retirement plan.
