The mission of Middlesex Human Service Agency is to improve the quality of life and independent functioning of a diverse client population served through an extensive delivery-system of community-based substance abuse and social service programs. Case Aide / Direct Care 3pm-11pm also 11pm -7am shift (Tewksbury)
Compensation: $12.00 per hour employment type: part-time non-profit organization
General Statement of Duties: The Middlesex DUIL Program is a fifty-eight bed, 14 day residential facility which provides a court-mandated educational program for male and female DUI second offenders. This is a non-medical program, incorporating individual and group counseling as well as educational and recreational components. The Case Aide will maintain a safe, supportive, and healthy environment for program clients. Monitor all clients during all program activities including meals, classes, groups and recreation. Ensure client safety and compliance with the program rules and regulations. Document client behaviors. Conduct head counts and bed checks. Maintain log book and other documentation. Assist in all aspects of the admission process. This person will be an important member of the program team and must be comfortable working with clients with substance abuse and mental health issues.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Training Required:
High School Diploma or GED Preferred: Bi-lingual – English/Spanish or English/Portuguese
Physical Abilities/Skills Required: Ability to climb stairs, walk for at least 45 minutes outdoors and sit or stand for prolonged periods of time. Reliable, dependable and able to work specified shift
Other Abilities/Skills Required: Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work with individuals with mental illness and substance abuse issues Ability to set limits fairly and consistently Ability to maintain good boundaries Ability to maintain client confidentiality Ability to prioritize work efficiently and effectively Ability to work as a team member Other Requirements: Must have valid driver’s license and reliable personal transportation Must be able to provide positive employment references Must be willing to complete CORI (criminal record check
