Clinical Supervisor – El Nido Family Centers – Panorama City, CA

El Nido Family Centers has an exciting opportunity in our Welcome Baby program for Clinical Supervisor. The Clinical Supervisor will be responsible for the day-to-day oversight of the Welcome Baby program and supervise a team consisting of Registered Nurses (RNs), Parent Coach Team Supervisors, and Parent Coaches. The Clinical Supervisor ensures that the Welcome Baby staff is properly trained, receive reflective supervision, and provide empathetic and client-centered services for clients. The Clinical Supervisor will work closely with hospital staff, the Project Director, and Data and Evaluation Manager to monitor progress in achieving program goals and objectives; and will assist team members in addressing the needs of high risk pregnant women and new mothers and ensuring linkages to community services. ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Carries out the mission, vision and values established by the agency.
Works with staff individually, and in a group setting, to plan, implement, evaluate and improve the delivery of program services.
Supports and trains staff on identifying client strengths, needs, barriers, risks and identifies community resources for families in need.
Provides reflective supervision for individual staff on a (1 hour) weekly basis and a (2 hour) biweekly group basis for all home visitation staff.
Works closely with the Project Director to implement documentation, training, procedures, policies and protocols.
Ensures the quality of the program by overseeing services provided through periodic shadowing of home visits and conducting regular client file reviews. Assesses strengths and areas of improvement for each employee and communicates observations.
Works with Parent Coaches to assess client/family’s needs, goals, values, culture and well-being by observations and assessment.
Provides consultation to all program staff on high risk clinical issues such as mental illness, developmental delays, child abuse and family violence to ensure that needed support and follow-up is provided to families.
Ability to conduct strength based family assessment across a broad spectrum of areas using a validated, standardized tool administered in the prescribed manner.
Mentors and assists with ongoing training of employees to ensure that they are modeling empathy and providing holistic and strength-based services.
Conducts ongoing team building activities to enhance employee relations and teamwork.
Assists with and provides ongoing staff development related to the issues and needs of clients such as maternal and infant health, breastfeeding, parenting, attachment, home safety, family planning and child development.
Assists the Project Director to ensure that deliverables are met as defined in the scope of work and planned in the service matrix.
Works closely with the Project Director to implement documentation, trainings, policies and procedures.
Works closely with the Project Director to ensure a smooth continuum of care and effective referral pathway for clients and families.
Works closely with the Outreach Specialist and Hospital Liaisons to track enrollment of new clients and assign cases to Parent Coaches and Welcome Baby Nurses according to program timelines.
Explores and identifies new referrals and resources for clients.
Tracks client enrollment and forecasts upcoming visits in order to assign cases and monitor visits for each Parent Coach and Welcome Baby Nurse in a fair and equitable manner.
Collaborates with Project Director regarding identified program issues or barriers and identifies possible outcomes.
Performs general managerial duties including interviewing/hiring applicants for employment; conducting performance appraisals; and counseling and coaching of staff.
Works collaboratively as a member of a multidisciplinary team and works as a liaison with community stakeholders and First 5.
Attends all Welcome Baby and First 5 related meeting, trainings and webinars as directed.
Maintains complete and accurate records and files; completes required reports in a timely manner.
Other duties as assigned.

Education/ Experience/ Skills

Licensed required, Masters Degree with extensive maternal child health experience, Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), Licensed Developmental Psychologist (LDP), Registered Nurse (RN). 2-5 years experience in home visitation with maternal-child health background preferred.
At least 5 years of administrative experience as a supervisor.
Demonstrated managerial and leadership skills sufficient to manage staff preferably in a social services environment.
2 years of training and practice in reflective supervision required.
Lactation educator, lactation counselor, or International Board Certified Lactation Consult (IBCLC) required within six months of hire. Completion of all required Welcome Baby trainings within one year of hire.
Ability to oversee preparation of team members through training, direct supervision, chart review, and weekly case review.
Knowledge of fetal, infant, and toddler development; maternal and child health; prenatal and child health requirements; and early childhood education best practices.
Familiarity with the effects of domestic violence, depression, perinatal depression, and parental alcohol and/other substance abuse on family health, parenting, and general functioning.
Knowledgeable about local community resources and able to refer families to appropriate agencies.
Experience working with families from diverse age, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds.
Empathy, warmth, and the ability to establish ongoing supportive relationships with families from diverse backgrounds.
Ability to work collaboratively as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
Ability to conduct strength-based family assessment across a broad spectrum of areas using a validated, standardized and prescribed tool.
Experience with continuous assessment of staff skills and training needs.
Very effective written and oral communication skills. Demonstrated skills in writing to articulate concepts and ideas in notes and reports.
Demonstrated skills organizing and maintaining complete, accurate records and filing reports in a timely manner.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS : Bilingual English/Spanish Preferred; must have a reliable automobile for use on the job (mileage to be reimbursed); TB clearance, to be renewed every two years; Satisfactory Driving Record, Automobile, and Valid Automobile Liability Insurance required.

Salary: $75,000.00 /year
