Description
The Communications Associate is a full-time position and reports directly to the Chief Communications Officer. The selected applicant will provide bilingual communications and media-related support to increase the visibility and impact of our programs across the U.S. The Communications Associate will work closely with our staff, media contacts, faith and community leaders. The applicant must be fully bilingual, well organized, tech savvy, professional, and an outstanding problem solver and outstanding writer. The candidate must display flexibility and excellent attention to detail. He/she should be highly motivated, have excellent time-management skills, demonstrate sensitivity to working with people of diverse cultural and religious backgrounds, and be willing to travel nationally. The position will be based in the Washington, DC area.

Responsibilities will include:
·Overall communications/media program support and implementation
·Speaking and writing in English and Spanish, including press releases, blogs, website content and social media
·Media outreach and coordinating logistics for print, radio and television interviews
·Developing talking points on a variety of issues (such as environment, health and financial literacy)
·Maintenance of organizational websites
·Translation of materials and review of documents prepared by outside translators
·Management of organization’s various social media platforms
·Assisting in newsletter assembly and content development
-Tracking results and impact in database, assisting with reports to partners and funders
·Utilizing technology infrastructure to enhance program efficiency and impact, and to promote community and partner engagement
·Preparation of educational and promotional materials to support program activities

Qualifications/characteristics:
·Two to four years of experience related to communications
·Bilingual written and oral skills (Spanish/English)
·Familiarity with wide range of current technology and trends, ability to learn quickly and incorporate new technology tools into daily operations
·Excellent communication and intercultural skills
·Outstanding attention to detail, highly organized
·Highly collaborative work style, strong work ethic, mission-driven, results-oriented approach to work
·Creativity and flexibility to undertake new assignments and identify new opportunities
·Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent work experience
·Graphic design experience a plus
·Experience working with Spanish-language media a plus
