OVERVIEW OF PROGRAM:
LifeWire’s Community Advocacy Program provides advocacy and education to survivors of domestic violence, coordination with the criminal justice system and other services such as weekly support groups for adult survivors, children, and youth, legal advocacy, Latino advocacy, housing advocacy, 24-hour Helpline, and referrals to other service agencies in our community.

OVERVIEW OF POSITION:
The Children’s Domestic Violence Response Team (CDVRT) program is a collaboration between LifeWire and Sound Mental Health (SMH) to provide wrap around services for families that have experienced domestic violence. All of the members of the family are able to participate in LifeWire advocacy services, while each family member receives individual therapy with SMH.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
CDVRT Specific Advocacy

Foster continued communication with Sound Mental Health (SMH) staff to ensure LifeWire participants are receiving the domestic violence informed mental health counseling they are seeking and provide training/support to SMH staff as needed.
Coordinate and facilitate bi-monthly consult meetings with Sound Mental Health Therapists and LifeWire advocates to provide the best services possible.
Refer LifeWire participants to the CDVRT program and facilitate/attend the first meeting to support survivors in establishing their families’ goals and priorities for therapy with SMH.
Intake SMH clients into LifeWire services when a need has been identified by a SMH therapist and client.
Advocacy

Provide survivor driven and trauma informed advocacy services
Develop and nurture on-going relationships with partner and referral service providers, particularly as it relates to economic stability and financial empowerment
Remain knowledgeable of program and agency guidelines and procedures so independent decisions may be made in emergency as well as daily situations
Facilitate support groups, education groups and other meetings with participants as assigned
Teamwork and Collaboration

Work closely and cooperatively in a team setting with advocates, agency-wide staff, interns, donors, and volunteers
Maintain organized shared spaces and personal work environment
Assist in providing training for other staff, volunteers, donors, and interns
Data Collections and Reporting

Participate in system data collection in an accurate, complete, and timely manner
Conduct outcome measurement and other applicable program evaluation tools
Complete necessary paperwork and statistical information related to programs
Complete monthly CDVRT data report
External and Internal Systems Engagement

Participate in continuing education and other professional development opportunities including anti-violence, anti-oppression, and diversity training
Attend regular internal and external meetings as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:
B.A. in related field. Work experience may be substituted for education.
2 + years’ experience in crisis intervention and domestic violence advocacy preferred.
Multilingual/cultural preferred.
Experience, ability and willingness to work with a culturally diverse team and participants.
Access to reliable transportation and valid Washington State driver’s license.
Updated CPR and First Aid Certification and AIDS/HIV Certification
Good computer skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team to deliver services.
Ability to attend work regularly, including scheduled work time outside of typical office hours.
