There With Care’s mission is to provide a wide range of meaningful and fundamental services to children and families during the critical phase of a medical crisis. We serve families referred by medical agencies by building a network of services and people who ease the burden of life’s day-to-day obligations with compassion and care.
Businesses, schools, youth groups and other organizations in the Bay Area are a meaningful and strategic part of There With Care’s community and play a critical role in helping us provide support to our families. Working closely with There With Care’s senior leadership, the Community Development Associate ensures that our community has the ability to be involved with There With Care as s/he engages individuals and organizations and nurtures these relationships for financial, in-kind, and volunteer support.
Responsibilities
Work closely with each of the Directors (Executive, Program, Development and Volunteer) to identify opportunities and link activities across the organization that better enable us to match each family’s needs and meet our strategic goals.
Identify innovative ways for potential supporters to engage with There With Care and leverage the crossover among efforts in our development and volunteer programs.
Support the Development team in fundraising efforts, which include, but are not limited to, the annual fund campaign, major gift solicitation, corporate and foundation grants, and our annual event.
Prospect, cultivate and manage relationships with community groups, businesses and other entities to secure in-kind products and services, auction items, and event sponsorships.
Support the Volunteer Director in identifying and managing opportunities that engage new volunteers and strengthen the volunteer program. Examples include attending community awareness events and coordinating employee, youth and community group engagement with There With Care.
Build awareness of There With Care in the community and manage marketing and communications efforts, which include, but are not limited to, building relationships with the media, developing our social media presence and managing relevant website.
Manage data entry, processing and reporting as it relates to donor, volunteer and event management.
Help create an office environment that is caring and kind to our community of volunteers and donors.
Play a utility role willing to contribute at all levels of the organization in the overall support of There With Care’s mission.
Coordinate with the Website Manager and Social Media Director in regards to posting donor support, upcoming events and other pertinent PR information.
Follow established procedures and guidelines that are in place to protect the There With Care brand as it relates to marketing and public relations.
Candidate Qualities
At least 2+ years of professional experience in a service industry or non-profit.
Innately models the care, compassion and support reflective of There With Care’s core values.
Creative and resourceful in identifying opportunities to create connections within our community.
Skilled at establishing and cultivating relationships with individuals, businesses and other organizations as well as comfortable asking for support.
Excellent communication (written and verbal) and listening skills. Able to articulate our impact clearly and inspire and engage through compelling stories.
Self-starter and natural collaborator who enjoys working in a variety of roles and seeks to have an impact across the organization.
Able to manage multiple responsibilities and projects simultaneously and skillfully with exceptional attention to detail.
Demonstrates poise, confidence and professionalism in novel and diverse situations.
Understands how his/her role contributes to the larger mission of the organization.
Strong aptitude and skills in managing data.
Proficient using writing and data management programs (e.g., Word, Excel). CRM experience a plus (Salesforce preferred).
Willing to work weekends and evenings occasionally.
Salary This is a part-time (20 to 25 hours per week), non-exempt position paid hourly.
