Coordinator of SustainAbilityCT – Domestic Violence Crisis Center

DESCRIPTION
The Coordinator of SustainAbilityCT (iACT) is responsible for providing direct assistance to individuals impacted by intimate partner violence (IPV) in the areas of budgeting, debt management, credit repair, and consumer education in order to build sustainable futures. The Coordinators of SustainAbilityCT will provide support, information and advocacy services designed to enhance the safety and economic security to our clients. The position requires demonstrated case management skills, advocacy skills, and a strong commitment to advancing opportunities for DVCC clients.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide debt management and financial consulting services to survivors of domestic violence experiencing financial abuse
Provide information/education to clients about the purpose and details of financial management, services, and consumer strategies.
Provide knowledgeable, objective financial guidance and customized strategies to meet clients’ personal financial background
Assist client’s in developing strategies to build and repair credit as well as establish long term solutions towards improving the credit score, minimizing debt, and creating long term savings objectives
Coordinating and advocating with financial institutions, service providers, consumer education groups, to housing authorities, property owners, and other service providers to assist clients secure financial stability
Organize, track, and maintain analyses, reports, and correspondence relating to clients and others relating to program projects
Prepare and propose materials, reports, and summaries to the Executive Director
Contact clients periodically to determine if there have been changes in their financial status.
Conduct financial education workshops and coordinate with professional volunteers on leading workshop presentation
Engage in grant writing, grant review, and meetings with various program funders
Engage in systematic change endeavors relating to housing and consumer issues, engage in policy change initiatives, work with local and national bodies on addressing barriers to victims of domestic violence

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree preferred. Individuals who excel as members of the SustainAbilityCT team come from varied professional backgrounds including: Finance, Law, Public Policy, Social Services, Counseling
Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred.
Candidate should be familiar with financial transactions including financial analysis.
Excellent communication skills and effective personal communication skills are a must.
Develops effective written correspondence. Actively listens to others and conveys information clearly and concisely.
Ability to think and act strategically. Looks at issues affecting the client from a larger, longer-term perspective than just day-to-day task-execution. Demonstrates flexibility when approaching complex situations and often uses creative methods/solutions to avoid conflicts and/or adverse outcomes.
Outstanding teamwork and project execution skills with ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to a changing, fast-paced environment.
Willingness to learn specialized financial field, and continually increase knowledge and responsibilities.
Strong quantitative, problem solving and analytical skills.
Detail oriented with strong organization skills.

This is a full time position based out of our Stamford, CT office.

Salary range: $48,000.00 to $60,000.00
