Customer Service Manager – Planned Parenthood – New York City

We are currently recruiting forafull-time Customer Service Manager for the Margaret Sanger Center located at 26 Bleecker Street, New York, NY 10012.

This is an exempt position reporting to the Senior Center Director.

POSITION SUMMARY:

As part of the Center Management Team, manages client relations functions. Serves as point person for clients, volunteers, visitors and staff at the Margaret Sanger Center. Advocates for clients, and safeguards clients’ rights to privacy and confidentiality. Assumes responsibility for all aspects of patient registration and financial procedures, including processing of insurance, registration, and insurance information, fee collection and timely submission of documents to Finance Department. Assumes responsibility for modeling excellence in customer service, and mentoring staff in client-centered service delivery. Supervises front office Business Associates assigned to patient registration. Supervises volunteers, including escorts and client liaisons. Assumes primary responsibility for resolving customer service issues. Selects, trains and supervises all staff performing reception and front office financial functions within the Center. Assumes responsibility for monthly schedules, vacation coverage and annual performance appraisals and management of performance related issues. Provides back up support to the Medical Records Manager .Understands all aspects of patient flow through center from arrival through departure. Communicates to patients and patients’ escorts regarding delays in services. Acts as liaison between Finance Department and front office staff. Ensures accuracy of all financial and other forms related to the delivery of services, billing and third party reimbursements. Performs daily reconciliation of cash and credit transactions. Prepares bank deposits and completes daily revenue reconciliation and assures accuracy of Center cash day sheets and timeliness of deposits, and maintenance of petty cash funds. Demonstrates knowledge of agency practice management system and assures proper recording of all pertinent information for each client, and daily appointment maintenance and reporting.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Requires Bachelor’s degree or equivalent. Requires 3-4 years of related and/or applicable experience. Requires strong supervisory, interpersonal, organizational and communication skills, as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced and fluid environment. Must possess excellent customer service skills and lead by example. Requires use of Electronic Health Record system and MS Word, Excel & Outlook. Experience in healthcare setting a plus.
