JOB Announcement – Deputy Director
YouthCare is seeking a dynamic seasoned professional, ideally with 15 or more years of leadership experience, to oversee overall agency operations. Functioning as the Executive Director’s second-in-command, the Deputy Director will have both internal and external facing responsibilities. Partnering with the Executive Director the Deputy Director leads the implementation of the strategic plan, ensuring that leadership executes on its strategic priorities and the agency’s annual organizational goals. In 2015-2016, programmatic growth and cultural change initiatives are key areas of focus.
Successful execution includes: operating with a focus on excellence in all matters; developing practices that nurture strong systems, teams, and the agency culture; overseeing performance to strategic plan outcomes; sponsoring and ensuring timely and effective information-sharing on organizational directions and priorities to internal stakeholders; ensuring a sound budget development framework and operating within agency budget; responsiveness to the ongoing and emergent needs of leadership, staff, and youth throughout the organization; and effective leadership for YouthCare’s cultural proficiency initiative.
Qualified candidates will have clearly demonstrated success as a senior leader and administrator in a nonprofit organization, foundation, or government agency, preferably in the field of homelessness; extensive experience with agency operations and oversight, including risk management; ability to think critically about and balance multiple needs, priorities, and stakeholders to meet agency goals; strong communication and public speaking skills; high ethical standards, good judgement, and discretion; and a positive collaborative leadership style.
