SUMMARY
Responsible for overseeing the overall operation and management of the agency and the supervision of the Facility Director, Director of Training and Compliance, Support Service Coordinator, Food Service Catering, Human Resources, and Spiritual Development.

Mission: Founded in 1972, Riverside House exists to guide men and women convicted of crime into becoming productive citizens through a non-denominational, faith-based approach.
Our Facility: Since its inception, Riverside House has been located at 968 NW 2nd street in a residential neighborhood in central Miami with easy access to public transportation. Throughout our 40+ years of operation, we have expanded from our original building to our current two-building campus with a capacity to house 100 men and women in house and 100 on home confinement. Our building facilities include administrative offices, group classrooms, training rooms, as well as designated areas for recreation, visitation, dining, laundry, and chapel services.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential functions of the job include, but are not limited to:
Effectively orients and trains supervised employees in job duties
Conducts effective and timely performance evaluations and processes paperwork appropriately for supervised employees
Effectively addresses employee disciplinary issues with supervised employees; accurately and thoroughly documents and processes disciplinary actions in a timely manner and in accordance with policies and procedures
Ensures supervised employees meet minimum training requirements and monitors training attendance
Processes payroll for supervised employees annual operations plan and budget
Participates in decisions regarding the hiring, promotion, retention, and dismissal of Operations/ Management team
Oversees the delivery of community corrections and treatment services by supervising, directing, and monitoring the activities of the Operations/Management team.
Develops and maintains relationships with all criminal justice key stakeholders
Effectively and accurately represents Riverside House at neighborhood meetings, open houses, program operations meetings, court meetings, and all other meetings required with outside agencies and/or government agencies
Stays professionally current in community corrections developing trends
Participates in the preparation of the program operations strategic plan
Oversees new programs after initial implementation by the President/CEO
Meets regularly with Operations/Management team and makes visits to program operations
Works closely with Support Service Coordinator to oversee repairs and/or building projects
Reviews various reports prepared by the Operations/Management team and the Quality Assurance Manager to monitor compliance with audit standards and contracting agency standards
Works with Agency Clinical Manager regarding treatment issues
Coordinates with appropriate employees to improve and/or correct deficiencies with client services including, but not limited to: case management, food service, cognitive skills, treatment, employment, and education
Conducts random interviews with clients to determine their satisfaction with the services provided and the manner in which the services were delivered
Oversees the corrections of audit deficiencies as revealed by the Operations/Management team, Quality Assurance Manager, Development Director, and our licensing/contracting authorities
Handles financial management, while balancing the delivery of Operations/Management Services against the realities of the budget
Coordinates, supervises, and participates in Riverside House grant teams as directed by the President/CEO
Assists the President/CEO on special projects, in meetings, and in any other areas where the need arises
Approves, develops (as needed) , and disseminates program operations procedures pertinent to the delivery of program services
Develops and presents reports as needed and/or requested by the President/CEO
Keeps the President/CEO informed of programming needs and problems
Acts as the President/CEO in his /her absence

Maintains appropriate boundaries with clients and employees as outlined in the Riverside House Code of Ethics and other policies.

De-escalates potentially volatile situations between clients when necessary utilizing cognitive-based intervention strategies

QUALIFICATIONS
The Deputy Director must believe in the core values of Riverside House, be driven by the vision and mission, and should demonstrate a passion for breaking new ground to lead social change. Must have management experience in a values-driven organization.
Master’s degree in Behavioral Sciences preferred and/or relative field. Bachelor’s degree in Behavioral Sciences required. Five (5) years administrative/supervisory experience required. Extensive knowledge of community corrections services and criminal justice system required. Must possess the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing as well as give clear direction in verbal and written format. Computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite and CMIS required. Must have the ability to effectively work with Riverside House employees and outside contacts. Must demonstrate an understanding of evidence based practices as applied to community corrections.

Ensures clients’ rights are upheld. Maintains client staff confidentiality according to Riverside House policies and Procedures; State law and federal regulations to include Confidentiality on Alcohol and Drug Abuse Patients Records, 42 C.F.R. Part 2 and the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), 45 C.F.R. Parts 160 and 164; Riverside House Reentry Residential Facility Standard Operating Procedures, Part 7-Case Management and ACA Standards 4-ACRS-7D08-7D11.
WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Type of work: this job requires involves sitting, standing, walking and driving for periods of time. Must have ability to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects up to 30 pounds. Must be able to work in a community corrections environment in all weather conditions (hot, cold, humid, dry and wet). Must be able to travel by car or commercial plane as needed in order to accomplish the essential functions of the position. Motor coordination: ability to accurately reach, feel or handle equipment used in daily routine. Manual dexterity: ability to pink, pinch, seize, hold grasp, turn or otherwise work with hands to operate above equipment. Vision: Clarity of vision at close and far distances.
