General Summary
The Development Associate provides management of the donor information management system, gift and receipt processing and administrative and clerical support within the Development department. Core duties include of Raiser’s Edge, preparing reports and financials, gift processing, preparing correspondence, handling information requests, and other administrative and clerical duties as assigned.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions)
Manage donor information management system
Data Entry
Gift Entry and Processing
Queries and reports
Annual data management plan (keeping clean and current records)
Reports
Financial reconciliation with Accounting Department
Responsible for all gift processing and receipting, including matching gift program
Maintain accuracy of database records.
Responsible for Direct Mail campaigns
Assist with event records and day of support for signature fundraisers
Provides administrative support for development team including prospect research
Provide excellent customer service to donors
Other duties as assigned
Education & Knowledge
Associate degree in Business Administration or equivalent work experience preferred
Knowledge of data mining and prospect research techniques
Skills, Abilities & Experience
One-Three years Administrative Assistant experience
Two or more years of experience working with Raiser’s Edge
Experience working with Crystal Reports preferred
Experience working in nonprofit, fundraising environment; donor research experience preferred
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills
Success in a fast-paced environment and ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities
Experience with computers; Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and desk top publishing
Intermediate to advanced skills working with Microsoft Excel; experience using merge functions preferred.
Candidate must successfully pass the Meals on Wheels People adopted pre-employment Drug & Alcohol test and criminal background check
Working Conditions/Physical Demands
Fast paced, with significant people interaction. Occasional lifting over 20 pounds, minimal reaching, bending and stooping. Normal office environment. Must pass drug and alcohol test and criminal background check.
