Development Associate – Ta’leef Collective – Fremont, CA

Ta’leef Collective provides the space content & companionship necessary for a healthy understanding, embrace and realization of Islam.

The Development Associate will be a self-motivated professional with the responsibility for maintaining & processing donor gift information and for planning & implementing fundraising events. The successful candidate will be a person committed to Islamic education and the mission and core values of Ta’leef. This position is located in Fremont, CA.

Reporting to the Major Gifts Officer, the Development Associate will have the following responsibilities:

Essential Functions:

Provide assistance to the Major Gifts Officer with maintaining major gifts program to raise funds for restricted gift opportunities, capital projects and endowment.
Provide monthly and Ad hoc donor reports to the Major Gifts Officer.
Mail monthly donor appreciation notes.
Handle logistics for small and large mailing projects.
Provide assistance to the Major Gifts Officer in representing Ta’leef locally and nationally to groups, donors and funders through tactical and strategic support.
Manage online/social media giving strategies, donor recognition strategies and other communications to support fundraising.
Manage seamless gift processing, including pledge reminders, gift acknowledgments, and maintaining accurate donor and gift records.
Work in coordination with CFO and Bookkeeper to develop annual fundraising budget and maintaining accurate donor and gift records through the database.
Work collaboratively with staff members to identify avenues of economic support for programs.
Assist in the planning and implementation of fundraising events.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a part-time, non-exempt position, (20-30 per week) to full-time position.

Travel:

This position does not require extensive travel.

Required Education and Experience:

Associates Degree or Bachelor’s Degree
Two years of related experience, including knowledge of annual giving, foundation/corporate solicitations, communications and special events at a nonprofit organization.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications:

Extraordinary attention to detail and process.
Demonstrated ability with Donor Databases ie. Etapestry, MobileCause, BlackBaud Merchant Services and SAGE Payments.
Excellent interpersonal and team work skills.
Strong organization and time management skills.
Experience with handling highly confidential information.
Excellent written communication and editing skills.
Knowledge of marketing strategies and techniques.
