Job Purpose:
The primary responsibility of Wishtoyo’s Development Associate is to assist Development Team/Staff in securing the funds Wishtoyo needs to implement its programs and projects.
Responsibilities
40 hours minimum per week, ability to attend weekend events, and willingness to perform and assist with all tasks associated with fundraising and development
Primary tasks include writing grant applications and grant reports, identifying grant opportunities, assistance with current and prospective donor cultivation, support in planning and implementing fundraiser events and campaigns, and administrative support
Accessibility to Wishtoyo’s Chumash Discovery Village in Malibu
Assistance with securing major gifts
Researching and identifying potential donors
Preparing presentations to deliver to donors and potential donors
Maintaining member and donor databases
Assisting with social media and web fundraising campaigns
Composing and emailing newsletters, updates, and action alerts
Other Duties as Assigned
Qualifications / Skills
Bachelor’s degree; Ability to work independently; High degree of drive desired
Excellent writing skills and strong work ethic
Experience with development and fundraising, including grant writing, donor and foundation cultivation and communications, and planning/implementing fundraising events preferred
Outgoing, confident, persuasive communicator
Must be willing to work closely with Wishtoyo staff and regularly attend meetings in Ventura and Malibu
