About this Organization:

Founded in Boston in 2001 and established in New York in 2008, Artistic Noise (www.artisticnoise.org) is an arts and entrepreneurship program for juvenile justice involved youth. Our program provides participants with the opportunity to use the visual arts to process and document their experiences, while also developing valuable life and job skills. We offer studio art classes in detention and recruit youth transitioning back into the community into our Art, Entrepreneurship and Curatorial Program. Both programs offer a unique opportunity for teens to examine the world in which they live, imagine their responsibilities and actions within that world, and give voice to their experiences through individual and group art projects.
