NYC SALT was established with the goal of using digital photography to empower and equip teenagers from immigrant communities in New York City with the tools they need to reach their full potential.

Poised for growth, NYC SALT seeks a full-time Development Director to lead its fundraising efforts.

Working closely with the Executive Director, the Development Director will be responsible for increasing NYC SALT’s annual fundraising outcomes by overseeing prospecting research and outreach (foundation, corporate & individual), managing and directing the work of an external grant writer, guiding and supporting board outreach and cultivation events as well as increasing overall constituent engagement.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

Develop and execute an annual fundraising plan
Identify, qualify, cultivate, and solicit new potential partners and donors (foundation, corporate & individual), including grant solicitation from corporations and foundations
Maintain and build relationships with volunteers, board members, corporate partners, foundations and current and prospective donors
Working with the Executive Director, act as a liaison to the Board of Directors for development strategy and support
Develop and execute marketing and communication plans to enhance visibility and increase awareness of NYC SALT
Manage special events and special projects as necessary

Qualifications include:

A belief in the mission, vision and values of NYC SALT
5-8 years of hands-on fundraising experience with progressive responsibilities and proven measurable fundraising results
Excellent writing, communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to develop relationships and build community and culture with students, staff, volunteers, donors, and corporate sponsors
Ability to work independently with a focus on achieving results in a fast paced environment
Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi task and prioritize, working on various project simultaneously
Experience leading or participating in a multimillion dollar capital campaign preferred
Experience with crowd-funding campaigns preferred
Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred
