Primary responsibilities include:
Database management and gift tracking
Generate donor reports, acknowledgement letters, and all other donor correspondence from GiftWorks database
Track pledges and reconcile individual pledge and overall fund progress with the business office
Manage data via admissions database
Generate year-end donation summaries as requested
Engage in continuous data vetting to ensure accuracy in communications
Active participation in planning and executing the Annual Fund
Produce appeal letters, bulk mailings, and emails
Conduct mail merges and handle bulk mail logistics with local Post Office
Produce pledge reminder letters and acknowledgement letters
Track progress and generate weekly Annual Fund income reports
Coordinate volunteer help for envelope stuffing
Process all Annual Fund pledges and one-time gifts
Primary support for an annual large-scale auction
Manage auction database including RSVPs, seating preferences, auction item donations, etc.
Handle all incoming monetary and in-kind donations
Correspond with local community and businesses to sell advertisements and obtain tributes and sponsorships
Assist in setup and takedown at event
Work with outside consultants, venues, vendors, ad-hoc committees, and volunteers to ensure a seamless event
Process and acknowledge all payments for tickets, donations, and purchases
Generate accurate income and expense reports
Maintain frequent communication with auction volunteers
Active participation, with the Development Director, in the cultivation and stewardship of donors and donor prospects
Support relationships with foundations and the greater community
Hold primary responsibility for maintaining contact with alumni families
Correspond with new and existing donors; answer pledge and donation-related questions
Represent the school at local events held and/or sponsored by peer institutions
Handle all public tributes made to the school in honor of celebrations, birthdays, births, graduations, deaths, etc.
Support the admissions and marketing department
Update bulletin board weekly with monthly calendars, weekly schedules, and photos from previous weeks
Correspond with local printing companies to produce materials, including stationery, posters, plaques, sandwich boards, and signs for events and other marketing purposes
Additional admissions and marketing support as needed
The ideal candidate possesses a minimum of three years of demonstrated success in institutional advancement; knowledge and training in development and marketing CRM databases (Gift Works, SalesForce, Raiser’s Edge, Constant Contact, etc.); success in and comfort with face-to-face contact with clients, customers, potential clients/customers and members of the public; and demonstrated experience in large-scale event management. Prior experience in small private school or fund development a plus. A belief in customer service and being donor-centered is essential. Should be comfortable working in a small, diverse office environment.

This is a .75 position, except for the period between January 1 and March 31, when it moves to 40-hours a week in preparation for our annual Auction. Salary is reflective of hours worked. The Development Manager reports to the Development Director and works in conjunction with the Director of Admissions and Marketing. Excellent pay and full benefits for qualified candidates.
