The Development Manager ensures a professional and efficient ongoing fundraising operation, working collaboratively with WCC organizational leadership, volunteers and staff. This position is exempt from over-time and the Manager reports to the Executive Director.
Responsibilities
Work with the Executive Director, Development Committee and Board to:
Develop and implement a multi-year fundraising plan to ensure the financial viability of WCC.
Identify, cultivate and solicit funding from individual and institutional donors.
Develop systems to effectively document and manage fundraising activities across all donor categories.
Prepare monthly and annual reports on fundraising activities.
Manage the donor management system and maintain its integrity.
Work with the Executive Director, WCC staff and the Board of Director as they conduct fundraising activities.
Create an environment that is welcoming to members and encourages them to financially support WCC.
Schedule, attend and assist with agendas for Development Committee meetings and related follow up.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required.
Minimum of two years’ experience in fundraising in an advocacy, direct service or educational nonprofit organization.
Highly developed oral, written communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong analytical, research and computer skills.
Knowledge of CRM systems.
Ability to work in a small staff, fast-paced office, managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
Energetic self-starter who takes initiative to help develop and implement organization’s activities.
Ability to work effectively with others at all levels of an organization and to consistently display a high level of professionalism in all interactions.
