DESCRIPTION
W!SE is a national nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting financial education and literacy, fostering social entrepreneurship, and preparing youth for college and the workplace. We are seeking an exceptional individual to join our development team as a Development Manager. Reporting to the Director of Development, she/he will be responsible for securing grants from corporate and family foundations and government agencies. The successful candidate will be a motivated self-starter with a proven track record.
RESPONSIBILITIES
· Conduct research to identify grant opportunities to support operations, new and existing programs
· Develop lists of prospective donors for new and existing programs, and cultivation and solicitation strategies
· Develop and write grant proposals for existing and new programs
· Oversee deadlines and reports required by grant providers
· Communicate with resource providers, and potential supporters on activities, accomplishments and the needs of W!SE
· Monitor progress toward achieving fundraising goals
· Prepare annual development plan to meet organization’s grant making goals
· Assist with the implementation of the strategic fundraising plan and revenue-producing initiatives
· Maintain and update records of grants awarded and prospects.
REQUIRED SKILLS
· Minimum B.A. or B.S.
· 3-5 years experience in grant/proposal writing
· Evidence of success in securing significant grants for a not-for-profit
· Superior writing and oral communication skills
· Ability to oversee multiple tasks and perform well under pressure
· High degree of computer proficiency and willingness to research and learn donor software
· Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively as a team player
· Ability to set priorities and move multiple projects forward in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
LEVEL OF LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY
English – Superior writing and oral communication skills.
