DESCRIPTION
The Riley Center is St. Vincent de Paul Society of San Francisco’s domestic violence program for survivors of domestic violence.

SUMMARY:
The Differential Response Liaison will provide domestic violence counseling and case management services to survivors who are referred through our contract with Family & Children Services (formally known as Child Protective Services). This position works closely with the DV Specialist and the FCS office in meeting the needs of DV clients in their homes and providing referrals and support as necessary.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Coordinate and provide domestic violence services to Differential Response clients: telephone, home visits, counseling, case management, advocacy, accompaniment, referrals, and assist clients with paperwork.
· Refer clients to appropriate domestic violence services in the community.
· Attend bi-weekly Differential Response Liaison meetings
· Develop & monitor service case plan activities.
· Complete monthly progress reports and statistics.
· Consult with Differential Response staff and HSA staff, as needed, around domestic violence issues and on specific client cases.
· Upon hiring, complete next available domestic violence training offered by Riley Center.
· Attend Riley Center staff meetings, supervision and DHS/Differential Response meetings and trainings.
· Participate in appropriate on-going staff development & training.
Facilitate support groups onsite and at satellite locations as needed
· Participate in on-going cross training to perform duties in other departments of the agency as needed.
· Maintain and compile client records, including individual case notes, daily log and statistics, in an accurate and timely manner using ETO.
· Provide written and verbal translation as needed.
· Occasional weekend and evening hours.
· Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
BA degree in psychology, social services or related field. Work experience in lieu of a degree may be acceptable.
Written and verbal fluency in both Spanish and English required; multi or bicultural preferred.
Experience working with survivors of domestic violence in direct services, and government agencies preferred.
Experience working with child maltreatment cases/issues in the state of California.
Demonstrated skills in counseling, case management and client advocacy.
Familiarity with Harm Reduction philosophy and approach.

Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
· Understanding of domestic violence issues, especially in context to race, class, gender, and sexual identity.
· Knowledge, experience, and comfort working with a diverse community, including LGBTQQ, youth, immigrant, low income communities, and communities of color.
· Working knowledge of community resources.
· Ability to work independently and with little supervision, as well as be a team player and appropriately collaborate with HSA when necessary.
· Ability to de-escalate crisis situations and make decisions under pressure.
· Excellent reporting skills, including data entry, Excel & word processing.
· Strong ability to communicate using open and non-confrontational communication with ability to foster teamwork.
· Strong initiative and ability to work both independently and cooperatively in a small office.
· Ability to maintain professional boundaries with clients, volunteers and staff.
