NAF solves some of the biggest challenges facing education and the economy by bringing education, business, and community leaders together to transform the high school experience. NAF ensures that high school students are college, career, and future ready. NAF’s educational design ignites students’ passion for learning and gives businesses the opportunity to shape America’s future workforce by transforming the learning environment to include STEM infused industry-specific curricula and work-based learning experiences, including internships. Since 1982, NAF has been partnering with existing high schools in high-need communities to enhance school systems at a low cost by implementing NAF academies – small learning communities within traditional high schools. NAF has grown from one NAF Academy of Finance in New York City to hundreds of academies across the country focusing on growing industries including: finance, hospitality & tourism, information technology, engineering, and health sciences. During the 2015-16 school year nearly 89,000 students attended 716 NAF academies across 36 states, including DC and the US Virgin Islands.

NAF is currently in an exciting phase of development with its new strategic plan. Our ambitions include seeking additional talent to increase our capacity to deliver on our goals.

Job Summary:
The Director, Corporate Relations is accountable for directing a portfolio of national partnerships with corporations, professional and affinity associations, governments agencies and non-profit organizations to support strong work-based learning opportunities as critical components of the NAF Educational Design. In this position the Director will drive progress by scoping, planning and delivering on NAF’s most critical initiatives, inclusive of NAFTrack Certification, Advisory Board Development and Work-Based Learning Systems. Project metrics will be used to facilitate discussions as well as communicate overall project status as required.

Responsibilities:
Work with internal and external partners to implement expanded corporate engagement initiatives
Match employer interests with strategic educational locations based on industry sector, geography, student demographics, local job market priorities and academy themes
Develop knowledge of employers’ volunteer programs, engagement practices and talent acquisition strategies
Provide opportunities for corporate employees to contribute to communities in a meaningful way by providing opportunities to participate in the full continuum of work-based learning activities
Serve as a spokesperson for NAF to influence policy and practice on work-based learning and internships

Educational Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree required. Master’s Degree preferred. Degree in a related field such as Business, Communications, or Public Policy a strong plus.

Experience:
10 years’ experience managing a portfolio of external partners with demonstrated success in delivering outstanding overall client satisfaction
Experience developing action plans, timelines and implementing large projects

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Commitment to the NAF mission and vision for young people
Ability to connect and align business partner priorities and goals with NAF’s mission and academy corporate engagement needs
Impeccable communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
Ability to work remotely and independently
Strong technology skills: well-versed in Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel
