Brighter Beginnings is seeking a Director of Behavioral Health (DBH) to oversee behavioral health programs in Alameda and Contra Costa Counties to ensure that goals and objectives meet the clinical benchmarks for quality care and productivity, while ensuring that services are being provided in accordance with program contracts and best practices. The DBH primary responsibilities are to provide leadership, program management and quality oversight for the Brighter Beginnings Behavioral Health Services Program under the direction of the Chief Operations Officer. The DBH will also provide and/or oversee individual and group clinical supervision in accordance with Board of Behavioral Science (BBS) and/or Board of Psychology (BOP) standards and guidelines to licensed and unlicensed Behavioral Health staff and interns in various environments and modalities. Collaboration with other departments is a vital component for Behavioral Health Services, especially in primary care settings where care must be coordinated between medical and behavioral interventions. The position may require direct service to patients and clients of the Centers.
QUALIFICATIONS:
JOB QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Licensed Clinic Social Worker (LCSW) and/or Licensed Psychologist; minimum of five to seven years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Clinical License Required. Minimum of five years related experience providing supervision to direct service staff; minimum of five years’ experience in program development and planning.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Oversees behavioral health program contracts in Alameda and Contra Costa Counties and supervises clinical managers, staff and interns.
Oversees integration of behavioral health in the Family Health Centers.
Facilitates staff recruitment and selection including interviewing, hiring, and training staff; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance and addressing employee disciplinary concerns.
Ensures that all clinical services meet or exceed contract requirements via quality assurance review for treatment plans, progress notes, dates, documentation, and billing which overseeing structures that includes:
Provide behavioral/mental health consultation, including the development of Mental Health and Health Education materials to the program staff and Primary Care Providers through group training or to individual staff, as directed.
Train clinical staff and interns and other program personnel as necessary in treatment protocols, diagnostic and biopsychosocial assessment and screenings, clinical intervention strategies, and treatment planning.
Provide medication management services within the Scope of Practice for a Licensed Clinician, train other clinical staff and interns. Work with Primary Care Providers and Psychiatrist collaboratively and within scope of practice regarding psychotropic medication management.
Maintain HIPAA compliance and confidentiality regarding privileged administrative and client information in a professional manner.
* Weekly reviewing of all progress notes
* Reviewing, training, oversight of Treatment Plans
* Reviewing and tracking pertinent dates for required documentation
* Reviewing and maintaining case assignments and billing in accordance with contracts
Supervision for clinical managers, staff, and interns includes day-to-day work-related supervision as well as Reflective Supervision in a Program setting.
Participates in community service network meetings, in-service, and trainings. Attends or sends appropriate representatives to all county trainings that review contract documentation and standards.
Participates in grant and report writing and special projects as indicated.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITES
Supervise managers, staff, and interns in behavioral health, EPSDT, Family PACT, CPSP, and other health related programs.
