Director of Housing Stabilization Services
The AIDS Foundation of Chicago (AFC) is seeking a motivated, organized, and detail-oriented person to serve as its Director of Housing Stabilization Services. This position directs the work of AIDS Foundation of Chicago (AFC) Supportive Housing Program staff and partner agencies. The Director of Housing Stabilization Services serves as AFC’s liaison to supportive housing program (SHP) and Housing Advocacy subcontracted partner agencies that provide housing and intensive case management for homeless individuals and households living with chronic illnesses. The Director coordinates SHP daily operations, oversees implementation of the supportive housing program policies and procedures, and ensures the overall quality of services provided.
Founded in 1985 by community activists and physicians, AFC is a local and national leader in the fight against HIV/AIDS. AFC collaborates with community organizations to develop and improve HIV AIDS services; funds and coordinates prevention, care, and advocacy projects; and champions effective, compassionate HIV/AIDS policy.
Principal responsibilities of this position include:
Direct AFC supportive housing and housing advocacy program team members and partner agencies to maintain consistent, standardized and best practices across AFC housing programs.
Oversee SHP Quality Assurance Activities – collaborate with appropriate AFC departments and partner agencies on quality assurance and improvement practices for AFC’s supportive housing programs
Convene and facilitate the AFC Supportive Housing Oversight Committee meetings with AFC SHP staff and partner agency program managers/directors to ensure partnership communication and program quality.
Responsible for Program Management – develop, update, and ensure adherence to policies and procedures; Oversee site visits and monitoring activities, ensure compliance with funder requirements; Provide technical assistance; meet reporting requirements.
In collaboration with Senior Director of Housing assist in development and implementation of new SHP projects,
Work across departments on Housing data systems including ClientTrack, HMIS, and Provide.
Supervise designated AFC SHP staff, volunteers, and interns.
Convene and facilitate bi-weekly meetings of all AFC SHP staff.
Represent AFC by regular participation in committees of the Chicago Alliance to End Homelessness, Supportive Housing Providers Association, Midwest Harm Reduction Institute and other relevant organizations.
Promote AFC supportive housing programs locally, statewide and nationally at conferences as needed.
Attend & Assist with agency-wide events & activities as directed;
Assist with other AFC activities as requested;
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Master’s degree or equivalent licensure or certification in social work, public health, or a related field with a minimum of three (3) years work experience in housing, health, or a social service field and two to three years staff supervisory experience. Experience working with supportive housing programs and familiarity with funding requirements. Experience conducting presentations and writing reports. Experience with the Chicago Housing for Health Partnership and/or systems coordination preferred, as well as demonstrated team leadership skills and group facilitation experience.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects, establish workload priorities, and meet deadlines are critical. Successful candidates will possess strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work with diverse populations.
