Job description
Organization Overview:
For over 13 years, Girls Leadership (GL) has awakened thousands of girls to a life of authentic leadership. Girls Leadership teaches girls the skills to know who they are, what they believe, and how to express it, empowering them to create change in their world.
There are 25 million K-12th grade girls in the United States. If you combine the efforts of all national girl-serving organizations, we are only reaching about three million, or about 12% of girls. That leaves out 22 million girls. Girls Leadership’s bold goal is to close that gap. Girls Leadership is collaborating with other organizations to elevate the girl-serving field, deepen our knowledge, and broaden our reach so that every single one of those 25 million girls has the awareness, skills and confidence to live as leaders every day.
We teach in-person programs, conduct original research, and produce free educational content. Our in-person programs teach girls, educators, and parents the core practices to be brave, resilient and connected. Taught by professional, salaried instructors, all Girls Leadership programs use interactive lessons and educational theatre-based techniques to help girls connect with their emotions and practice the tools of building healthy, authentic relationships. The courses are age-appropriate and progressive, following girls’ developmental needs from grade school through high school.
