Director of School Partnerships – YMCA of Silicon Valley – Santa Clara, CA

Project Cornerstone is the youth development initiative for Silicon Valley. Our work is based on the developmental assets framework and promotes the positive experiences, opportunities and relationships that research shows children need to grow up healthy, caring and responsible.
The Director of School Partnerships provides leadership, management, and innovation to the organization. Leveraging a small team and an extensive volunteer network, the Director is responsible for coaching, training, and consulting with over 200 public and private school partners. The successful candidate will be an experienced trainer with an entrepreneurial approach to leveraging partnerships, demonstrated ability to scale programs, and a deep understanding of the social/emotional needs of youth.
Major Responsibilities:
 Provide leadership, vision, and innovation to the work of Project Cornerstone in Silicon Valley and beyond.
 Build long-term, positive relationships with school personnel, community members and parents.
 Provide training, supervision and program management to a diverse staff team.
 Provide high quality training for teachers and all school staff related to developmental assets.
 Provide high quality training for parents related to developmental assets.
 Provide support to the Executive Director in planning and development of grants, research projects and program planning.
 Provide oversight and guidance to program evaluation for continual program improvement.
 Be a primary spokesperson to advance the organization.
Qualifications:
 Master’s Degree is strongly preferred or equivalent from an accredited college or university, and five to ten years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
 Demonstrated expertise in planning and organizational skills with proven ability to work effectively both independently and on a team.
 Demonstrated expertise with public speaking, teaching/training, and facilitation of diverse groups.
 Demonstrated expertise of collaborative skills in working with both public and private K-12 school systems.
 Demonstrated expertise in curriculum development with strong writing skills.
 Entrepreneurial spirit.
 Bilingual Spanish or multilingual skills are a plus.
