DESCRIPTION
Do you want to make a difference in your community? Are you passionate about educating our community and helping individuals who are struggling with eating disorders and related issues? Do you have a background coordinating and organizing events?
Rock Recovery is looking for an Events Coordinator to add to our volunteer team! This volunteer position would require an average of 3 – 5 hours per week to help plan and organize educational community and fundraising events. Most of the tasks and responsibilities can be completed from the comfort of your own home or office (with the exception of day-of event work).

Responsibilities:
Assist with general event coordination and management activities such as:
Event logistics and event planning prep including choosing event and venue partners, arranging schedules and agendas, selecting speakers/entertainment, choosing vendors, selecting menus, etc.
Conducting marketing efforts for promotion and outreach such as creating and distributing marketing materials (invitations, flyers, emails, advertisements, etc.), contacting relevant community partners and coordinating efforts with Rock Recovery’s marketing team
Assist with day of coordination logistics such as set-up and clean-up and make sure events run smoothly and attendees have a positive event experience
This position directly reports to the Director of Development and Community Programs.

Qualifications:
Bachelors or substantial experience and demonstrated skill in marketing, event coordination and/or management
Excellent communication skills, including writing, proof reading skills, and speaking
Excellent interpersonal skills both in person and by phone, with high professionalism
Ability to accomplish projects with little supervision
Passion for Rock Recovery’s mission
