LOCATION: Northwest Suburbs, IL

POSITION TITLE: Events Manager

DURATION: Full-time, Permanent

SALARY: $75,000 – $85,000

POSITION OVERVIEW: Reporting to and in partnership with the CEO, the Events Manager will spearhead all development efforts to secure an estimated $2.2 million in 2016 as the organization continues to grow. This individual is responsible for overall fundraising and development efforts for the national office with an emphasis on events (40%) as well as the oversight of obtaining corporate sponsorships, executing an annual giving campaign and securing major gifts & new grant opportunities.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manages the planning and execution of three major fundraising events throughout the calendar year (Annual Gala, 5K, and Golf Outing)
Manages the solicitation and closing of major gifts
Develops and maintains ongoing relationships and stewardship with major donors
Develops and implements plan to secure new corporate sponsorships and grants at the local and national level
Assist the leadership team in identifying new prospects for the department
Create and execute annual and quarterly fundraising plans heavily focused on strong metrics to monitor progress to those goals
Develops and writes fundraising & solicitation proposals
Trains and manages volunteers to be effective in event-related and other fundraising activities
Manages up to 3 individuals on the Development team as well as committees of event volunteers and related interns

OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE:
A bachelor’s degree or higher
5-7 years of experience working in a Development department required, 3-5 years of event fundraising & major gifts experience required
Management experience with excellent communication & problem-solving skills required
Experience managing volunteers is preferred
Development experience in a social services environment preferred
Must be entrepreneurial – maintaining a high energy, enterprise-oriented approach to all activities.
Proficiency with MS Office technologies w/ knowledge of donor database management
Experience developing and monitoring budgets
Must embrace and exemplify the Organization’s core values
