POSITION SUMMARY: The Executive Director is the key management leader of Auburn Youth Resources. The Executive Director works collaboratively with the Board of Directors in leading the transformation of AYR from its current stage to align more closely with its long term vision. The ED is responsible for overseeing the administration, programs and strategic plan of the organization.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES, DUTIES AND TASKS:
Board of Directors:
Collaborate with the board to meet the objectives of AYR’s strategic plan while ensuring that the budget, staff and functions are aligned with AYR’s core mission.
Cultivate and support a strong and transparent working relationship with the Board and ensure open communication about the measurement of financial, programmatic, and impact performance against stated milestones and goals, and serve as a member of all committees.
Develop and maintain working relationships with Board members to enhance fund raising opportunities.
Budget/Finance:
Coordinate the overall efforts of the agency in pursuit of funding.
Plan and develop, in conjunction with the Board of Directors, funding strategies including endowments, capital campaigns and other activities.
Ensure proper controls, expenditures and monitoring of all financials.
Management/Administration:
Provide inspirational leadership and direction to AYR’s high-performance senior management team, and ensure the continued development and management of a professional and efficient organization.
Establish effective decision-making processes that will enable AYR to achieve its long- and short-term goals and objectives.
Ensure effective systems to track scaling progress and regularly evaluate program components to measure success in a way that can be effectively communicated to the Board, funders and other constituents.
Maintain a climate which attracts, keeps, and motivates a diverse staff of top quality people.
Community Relations:
Develop and maintain effective relationships with government officials at various levels to promote persuasive advocacy.
Cultivate and nurture relationships with current and potential corporate and foundation sponsors, as well as individual donors.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:
Advanced degree, preferably an MBA, with at least 5 years senior management experience.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Prior nonprofit experience ideal with management of a multisite organization preferred.
Track record of effectively leading and scaling a performance- and outcomes-based organization and staff; ability to point to specific examples of having developed and operationalized strategies that have taken an organization to the next stage of growth.
Excellence in organizational management with the ability to coach staff, manage, and develop high-performance teams, set and achieve strategic objectives, and manage a budget.
Past success working with and cultivating relationships with Board of Directors.
Strong marketing, public relations, and fundraising experience with the ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders and cultures.
Action-oriented, entrepreneurial, adaptable, and innovative approach to business planning.
Demonstrated ability to think strategically and a thorough understanding of strategic development.
Strong written and verbal communication skills; a persuasive and passionate communicator with excellent interpersonal and multidisciplinary project skills.
Passion, idealism, integrity, positive attitude, mission-driven, and self-directed.

Has excellent written and verbal communication and organization skills.
COMPENSATION: $90,000 – $110,000 DOE/DOQ w/ a competitive benefits package.
