Seeking Our Next Executive Director

GreenInfo Network is now seeking its next Executive Director to continue the organization’s outstanding 20-year track record of using geospatial and related information technology to support over 800 other public interest groups and public agencies. Applications are welcomed through July 8, 2015.

Working as a nonprofit consultant to as many as 100 groups annually, GreenInfo has built a national reputation for quality, creativity and effectiveness in its use of GIS data development, spatial analysis, display mapping, web map applications, website design, and communications strategy. GreenInfo’s staff of 10 supports a wide range of clients, covering environment, land and water conservation, public health, social justice, philanthropy and others. PRIORITIES

As it undertakes this leadership transition, the key priorities for GreenInfo Network are to: 1. Maintain the extremely high quality work products and depth of its client base 2. Develop new directions that expand service reach and capabilities, to meet evolving needs of our clients and to take advantage of promising new opportunities 3. Continue improving GreenInfo’s internal efficiency and capacity including staff development and retention

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The Executive Director reports to GreenInfo’s Board of Directors and has strategic and operational responsibility for the organization’s staff and programs. The Executive Director is a hands-on leader who is responsible for:

● Organizational strategy and direction

● Marketing and outreach to create GreenInfo program and client opportunities, including raising funds from grants or donations

● Management of staff and organizational operations

● Implementation of specific client or other projects drawing on the Director’s own skills

● Development of partnerships to increase the organization’s effectiveness and leverage the impact of project work

QUALIFICATIONS We want candidates who believe deeply in using information technology to support social change and can lead our organization in achieving that mission. Specifically, we are looking for:

● Management experience leading and developing high performance, technology-driven organizations, with nonprofit and client-based consulting experience highly desired – we’re looking for at least five years of this experience and a strong desire to lead.

● An exceptional ability to creatively promote the value of the technology solutions developed by GreenInfo, to attract both clients and broader support for this work – we’re looking for dynamic writing, compelling visual sensibility, and an engaging personality.

● Excitement about and expertise in geospatial and related information technology, particularly as it relates to meeting public interest groups’ needs.

● Success in securing funding for public interest work, including foundation grants, major gifts or other types of contributed financial support.

● Expertise and a network of connections in a field related to GreenInfo (conservation, public health, social justice, philanthropy, etc.).

● A track record of working in partnership with a Board of Directors, including helping develop board leadership.

COMPENSATION

Compensation includes salary and bonus based on organizational performance, competitive with nonprofits of similar organizational size; a generous vacation, holiday and sick leave policy; professional development time and expenses; fully paid individual medical, dental and vision plan; plus several types of insurance access to GreenInfo’s 403b plan.
