The Food Truck Coordinator drives the agency’s outreach vehicle (the Cookie and Pie Truck), represents Project Angel Food at community events throughout Los Angeles County, handles food sales and directs the work of volunteers.
Duties include:
Driving the Cookie and Pie Truck to outreach sites throughout Los Angeles County
Representing Project Angel Food at community and commercial events
Overseeing the sale of food to customers
Directing the work of volunteers
Performing basic maintenance of the van interior
Monitoring and ordering supplies and inventory
Qualified candidates must have:
Valid California driver’s license, clean driving record, proof of insurance, experience driving and reliable transportation
Excellent knowledge of Los Angeles County
Strong interpersonal skills and customer service orientation
Strong commitment to Project Angel Food’s mission of feeding and nourishing the sick as they battle critical illness, and to communicating this mission to the general public.
Ability to stand for extended periods, walk long distances and regularly lift or move items up to 30 pounds
Ability to work on-call (may include weekends and/or holidays as needed)
Ability to work independently
Ability to motivate and delegate tasks
Ability to direct the work of 1 or more volunteers
Ability to handle cash and credit card transactions and track sales
Knowledge of health department codes, rules and regulations
Sanitation certification (can be completed after hiring)
Also encouraged:
Commercial vehicle driving experience
Terms and benefits:
Part time, non-exempt position with a starting wage of $15.25 per hour. Potential to grow into a full-time position.
Annual evaluation by supervisor
