Foundation Grants Administrator – San Rafael – Scion Nonprofit Staffing

Scion Nonprofit Staffing (www.scionnonprofitstaffing.com), the Bay Area’s nonprofit specialist and full service national staffing firm, has been engaged to conduct a search for a new Grants Administrator for our client, a wonderful foundation helping the Bay Area! This position is for immediate hire and is based in San Rafael, California, just north of San Francisco.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
In this role the Grants Administrator will have the opportunity to:
Review and process all grant recommendations for family and community funds.
Ensure due diligence and investigate grant objective and grantee organization to ensure charitable purpose.
Alert appropriate staff of questions requiring resolution and maintain appropriate documentation.
Communicate with donors regarding their grant recommendations and handle all grants management issues.
Communicate with grantees regarding donor grant recommendations, as needed.
Work closely with Philanthropic Partnership team to address any grant-related issues.
Work closely with consultants to ensure international grants comply with all federal regulations and due diligence policies.
Maintain and improve all aspects of grant documentation, including forms, protocols and workflows.
Collaborate with the IT team on system maintenance, including identifying and documenting problems, defining requirements for new protocols, and testing new procedures.
Make recommendations to improve systems and the grants process.
Review and ensure accuracy and completeness of grant information. Ensure completed and expired grants are closed properly.
Work with the Marketing and Communications department to develop, review, and reconcile grant commitments for presentation in the annual report.
Work with the Senior Financial Analyst and Philanthropic Partnership staff to allocate and process annual endowment grants.
Provide monthly metric reporting and work with Grants Team on all grant reporting, including reporting for the annual audit, annual report, tax reporting, and prepares other reports, as needed.
Provide project and duty support for the Grants team members.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL
A.A. degree and eight years or B.A./B.S. degree and five years of recent administrative and research experience; previous experience in grant-processing/grant due diligence is highly desirable.
5 years of performing complex business tasks and prioritizing multiple projects, in a high-volume environment.
Proficient writing, editing and proofreading skills with the ability to gather and organize information appropriately.
Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel), and the ability to effectively utilize proprietary software.
Strong planning and implementation skills; research and synthesizing abilities.
Excellent ability to prioritize, organize, and manage multiple competing assignments and responsibilities.
Excellent customer service and communication skills (listening, interpersonal, oral, and written).
A high degree of professionalism, confidence and flexibility that allows the incumbent to work collaboratively and effectively with clients and colleagues of diverse backgrounds.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work well in a team environment. Ability to develop and maintain a good working relationship with the Foundation staff, members of the community, elected officials, the media, colleagues in other foundations, and members of the nonprofit sector.
High level of personal and professional integrity and ethics.
Interest in philanthropy and the non-profit community.

COMPENSATION
The position offers a competitive base salary of $75K-$78K in addition to a robust benefits package and a job you will love! This position also works in a wonderful working environment with a positive and professional team!
