Graduate Summer Associate – Grantmakers for Effective Organizations – Washington, DC

Grantmakers for Effective Organizations is seeking a fulltime graduate summer associate for an entrepreneurial membership association in Washington, D.C. This role is will directly contribute to GEO’s internal effectiveness and programming. Start and end dates are negotiable. This is a temporary position and is not benefits eligible. This position pays $17/hour. Some of specific responsibilities could include:

Working with GEO’s program team to plan a convening on collaboration this fall.
Working with GEO’s program team to research and write new pieces for GEO’s Smarter Grantmaking Playbook
Working with GEO’s program team on supporting the conference planning committee for two conferences this year
Working with GEO’s fundraising team, learning more about the fundraising process while helping the team increase efficiencies
Supporting the communications team with digital media
Work with the Director of Operations on GEO’s organization-wide learning initiatives, including knowledge management and database management work
Supporting the COO on research and development projects

Requirements

Master’s degree candidate (business administration, nonprofit management or related field preferred)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong attention to detail
Demonstrated ability to handle multiple priorities at the same time
Ability to be a self-starter and team player, especially in the context of a small, entrepreneurial organization
Previous work experience with nonprofit organizations, foundations and/or membership organizations preferred
