Fast paced office of New York City Council Majority Leader is seeking an ambitious and hardworking candidate to work as a Constituent Liaison. Strong writing skills and a positive, team oriented demeanor are necessary.

The ideal candidate will be familiar with NYC agencies and local politics.

Duties include:
– Interacting with community residents
– Developing relationships with local civic organizations
– Working with different city agencies
– Writing clear and concise letters defining issues
– Attending community events on nights and weekends while representing an elected official
– Receiving large number of phone calls
– Creatively working through various levels of government bureaucracy

Requirements:
– College degree or significant customer service experience
– Experience working or interning in a political office preferred
– Volunteer or professional campaign work preferred

Note – this is a temporary position lasting a minimum of two months
