Overview of the Role:
Are you passionate about working at an organization that serves the community through outstanding programs for all demographics? Then perhaps you belong here! The OFJCC seeks an experienced and energetic candidate who, with Chief Development Officer and Chief Executive Officer, will lead fundraising efforts for agency annual and long-term fundraising campaigns, with a focus on major gift prospecting, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship. In addition, this individual will manage volunteers, development databases and prospective donors.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
With CDO, develop strategies and goals for increased giving, new donor acquisition and securing gifts from lapsed donors
20-30 face-to-face cultivation/solicitation visits per month
Identify and manage portfolio of 150-200 prospects
Measure and track progress of staff, board and volunteers against goals
Attend and participate in community-wide events and meetings on and off campus to network and seek meaningful connections in the broader Jewish community to establish strong relationships
Review progress towards goals on monthly basis and course correct as necessary by inspiring solicitors, troubleshooting with them, recruiting additional solicitors as needed
Help recruit new volunteers for Major Gifts committee
Plan parlor meetings to cultivate donors
Qualifications & Skills:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, CFRE a plus
5 years of experience in fundraising or sales
Mature judgment, political acumen and diplomacy in handling sensitive and/or confidential matters
Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills. Ability to communicate information clearly and expertly (both written and oral)
Proficient with Microsoft Office 2010 and donor databases
Proven track record of revenue generation
Knowledge of principles of institutional advancement, development and philanthropy
Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously
Proven record of accomplishment that demonstrates initiative, creativity, and critical thinking abilities; willingness to take risks and solve problems creatively
Ability to work nights and weekends as needed
