Who we are:

The Devoted to Children Foundation (D2C) is a small and growing nonprofit focused on supporting the most vulnerable children of Cayes Jacmel, Haiti. The D2C Family Home was created to provide a long term home for orphaned, abandoned and enslaved (restavek) children. These children are not put up for adoption but rather adopted into the Devoted to Children Family and brought up in a nurturing environment in their own community. In addition to the D2C Family Home, the organization is reaching more children in the Cayes Jacmel community through various programs to support their future. What we are looking for:

Devoted to Children is seeking a community minded and entrepreneurial individual with experience in nonprofit management to help guide this grassroots organization to its next level of development and growth during the Executive Director’s leave of absence. This is a great opportunity for someone eager to work in nonprofit management; a recent graduate from a nonprofit management program; or an experienced professional that wants to lend their time and expertise to a grassroots organization.

Description:

This is a flexible, virtual position that can be done on one’s own schedule. The Managing Director will work independently as well as with the organization’s staff of volunteers and program family in Haiti to maintain each component of the organization’s functions and to grow key components in order to bring the organization to the next level. This position will require regular email and phone communication with the Program Director in Haiti, the Executive Director, and volunteer staff. All expense paid travel to Haiti at least once a year will be required.

Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Program Operations

Develop an action plan to bring the organization to the next level

Build upon, identify and create policies and procedures that support the action plan

Support fundraising and help create strategic fundraising plans and outreach activities

Identify and cultivate possible partnerships with other organizations and/or corporation foundations

Develop Mar-Comm strategies to create awareness and visibility of the organization, engage current donors and gain the support of new donors

Finance

Oversee general financial operations and create an annual budget

Management

Work closely with D2C’s Program Director in Haiti to ensure quality of the home and programs

Oversee Social Media

Collaborate and work closely with other members of the D2C family on ways to grow and improve programs

Manage Human Resources

Position Requirements and Qualifications, Knowledge, and Skills

We hope that you have:

The ability to demonstrate leadership experience in management, administration, and fundraising

Knowledge of and experience with nonprofit organizations

Knowledge of grant research, writing and budgets

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

General computer skills including email, Word and Excel

The ability to organize and work independently

Accessible, open and energetic leadership qulaities which will contribute to a mindful and focused team environment in order to carry out the mission of the organization
