Mental Health Specialist – Brooklyn – Food First Inc

Job description
Under supervision of the Program Director provide all services to residents, complete assessments for clients and referrals for service as needed. Facilitate individual and group counseling sessions for the residents in the shelter.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following but are not limited to:

Maintain a caseload of families residing in the shelter.

Conduct initial assessment on residents upon entering residential facility.

Facilitate weekly support groups for residents. Facilitate family sessions as needed.

Coordinate appropriate referrals to mental health providers as needed.

Provide clinical documentation for all services in a timely fashion.
