The mission of Citizens of the World Los Angeles (CWC LA) is to provide a socio-economically, culturally, and racially diverse community of students in Los Angeles with an intellectually challenging, experiential learning environment that develops each student’s confidence, potential, and individual responsibility as citizens of the world. The CWC LA network is growing at a rapid rate, and currently enrolls 1,300 students in three high-performing schools: CWC Hollywood (opened in September 2010, currently TK-5th grade); CWC Silver Lake (opened in August 2012, currently TK-6th grade); and CWC Mar Vista (opened in August 2013, currently TK-4th grade). The region is expected to continue to grow significantly over the next several years to meet demand from the community. CWC LA has a regional support office that supports all CWC LA schools.

Position Description
CWC Mar Vista is seeking a dynamic and organized individual to serve as the Office Coordinator. This role will be a critical member of the CWC Mar Vista community and will help ensure that the school runs smoothly and maintains all compliance requirements as a public charter school. Successful candidates will embrace the central tenets of CWC Mar Vista’s mission – diversity, constructivism, and progressive education. The Office Coordinator will support the Operations Manager and share responsibility for all non-academic operations at the school, as well as assisting in the development and maintenance of budget, compliance, school record, food service and other systems to run major school functions.
The Office Coordinator will report to the Operations Manager, and will work closely with the Principal, Assistant Principal, other school site leaders, and staff from CWC Los Angeles’s regional support office (for example: the Director of Operations and Executive Director).
Responsibilities
Assist the Operations Manager, Principal, Assistant Principal, Director of Operations, and Executive Director with all administrative functions of the school
Provide clerical support for the school office including communicating with parents, preparing and filing data reports, entering invoices for payment, answering phones, etc.
Provide minor first aid and discipline resolution for students in the main office
Support the distribution, collection, retention, and proper submission of wide variety of forms and reports, including personnel forms, attendance, grade and test reports, accidents, budgets, curriculum, special programs, employee time reporting, purchase orders, supply and equipment requisitions, student cum files, personnel files, etc.
Work with Operations Manager, Principal, Outreach Coordinator, and Outreach team on school lottery and enrollment, including applications from prospective students, enrollment forms, and registration
Order and purchase supplies and manage vendor relationships and records
Assist in the management of school lunch ordering, serving, tracking, reporting, and billing process
Maintain the school’s Student Information System to ensure all student, staff, attendance, and school information is current and up to date
Prepare correspondence, reports, bulletins, files, forms, and memorandums, and manage school communication systems with parents
Provide customer service and serve as a point person for parents, visitors, technicians, and vendors
Manage confidential and sensitive student, family, staff, and school information with the highest level of discretion and confidentiality
Serve as a member of the school’s emergency and incident response team
Provide bilingual translation and communication with parents, if feasible
Qualifications
The ideal Office Coordinator will have:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
Experience in a similar position a plus
Demonstrated skills with Microsoft Office Suite, including expertise in Word, Excel, and data management
Initiative to solve problems and follow through to complete each task and project
Experience working in fast paced educational environment, nonprofit, or social enterprise
Proficiency communicating in Spanish, both orally and in writing, preferred
Strong facilitation and group communication skills
Eagerness and maturity to collaborate and support fellow staff members
Alignment with the education philosophy and mission of the school
Skill/traits
Maturity, humility, strong work ethic, sense of humor, and a can-do attitude

Strong communications skills (verbal and written), and able to do so with a diverse audience
