Urban Pathways, Inc. a leader in providing continuum of care services to the homeless population is currently seeking an Operations Director for our facility located in midtown Manhattan. The Operations Director will be responsible for the day to day building operations including all functions related to supervising and scheduling operations staff and ensuring the quality of life to clients residing in the residence by maintaining a safe and clean facility.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Oversee and coordinate all maintenance, repair, fire safety and security functions as noted in the respective job descriptions of staff.
Recruit, hire and supervise security, maintenance and on-call positions.
Assess and coordinate maintenance and security staff training needs with Director.
Complete and submit relevant reports and statistics in a timely fashion.
Maintain all operations equipment and appliances in good working order, and provide recommendations as needed to the Director for the repair, upgrade or replacement of furniture.
Oversee and maintain the building’s plumbing, heating, cooling electrical, telephone, safety/emergency systems.
Fulfill work orders and requests for repairs.
Monitor performance of contracted services.
Maintain inventory of materials and equipment.
Maintain all warranties and service contracts.
Perform simple repairs and routine upkeep, e.g., painting and caulking.
Maintain all safety equipment.
Attend supervision, meetings, and trainings as assigned.
Operate Agency vehicle.
Is on call to address needs on a twenty-four hour basis.
Performs all other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelors with a minimum of four years building operations and security experience, preferably in a social services facility. Or, High School Diploma / GED with six years maintenance and security experience with at least two years supervisory experience.
Ability to obtain fire safety certification within six months is required.
Excellent plumbing, heating carpentry and electrical skills, and ability to perform routine repairs.
Good verbal and written skills.
Good interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a team.
Valid Driver’s License and willingness to drive Agency vehicle.
