Job description
The Educational Services Department provides telephone and video conference classes to seniors and caregivers in their own homes through University Without Walls, Russian University Without Walls, and Caregivers’ Connections. The Outreach Liaison is responsible for providing community outreach for all of DOROT’s conference programs.
The UWW Outreach Liaison will work 16 hours per week, conducting outreach, identifying and attracting new program participants, strengthening and building new partnerships, and presenting the program to community organizations serving the elderly. The Outreach Liaison is involved in conducting evaluation and tracking participation, and working with partnering organizations to develop new classes and identify skilled facilitators.
Primary Responsibilities:
Develop and implement an outreach plan to engage current and recruit potential community partners, clients, and facilitators
Create and distribute marketing materials
Research, schedule, and attend relevant community events and meetings in the Metro NYC area
Contact agencies and other potential partners via email and telephone and follow up with in-person meetings, presentations, and mailings
Respond to potential client inquiries by visiting seniors in their homes, explaining the program and then helping them register for the program
Ensure client retention through surveys
Coordinate the setup, training, and troubleshooting for new video conference clients and partners both remotely from the office and onsite in client homes and at partner offices
Collect, track and maintain data regarding new partnerships, participants, facilitators, and classes
Work with existing facilitators to expand course offerings and recruit and train new facilitators.
Required Qualifications:
Associate’s Degree or higher
Excellent public speaking and presentation skills
Ability to work independently and be self-driven
Strong creative thinker
Interest in working with older adults
Comfortable visiting seniors in their homes
Knowledge of iPads, video conferencing, and Microsoft Office 2010
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Experience volunteering and/or working with volunteers
Ability to travel throughout the Metro NYC area
Availability to attend occasional evening and weekend events
