The Philanthropy Connection (TPC) seeks a highly organized, detail-oriented, take-charge individual with a strong interest in non-profits and grant-making, to help systematize and organize a women’s collective giving foundation (200+ members) that has experienced rapid growth since its founding in 2012. We are searching for a motivated individual with excellent time-management skills who can work independently, shares our passion for women’s philanthropy, and is able to provide professional office support/administrative services in a 20-hour a week position. Most of TPC’s work is done by our member-volunteers; this is the only paid position in the organization.
Qualifications: The successful candidate will be a skilled database manager with at least 3-5 years experience as a proven manager of multiple high-priority projects, with the ability to anticipate the work that needs to be done, and move it along. The candidate will enjoy the varied responsibilities of office management and all supporting functions related to grant-making, including the grant proposal submission and review process. Experience with a broad stakeholder group is preferred. Proven strong and independent decision-making is essential. Ability to plan and anticipate workflow is critical.
Responsibilities and Skills Sought:
– Must have facility with or willingness and ability to learn multiple software packages, including Wild Apricot (membership and event management database), Word Press, and Microsoft Office Suite.
– Maintain and update website (Word Press)
– Strong interpersonal skills, with proven ability to work with multiple constituents, i.e., Board members, Grantees, and 200+ members
– Coordinate with Committee Chairs to create and maintain a Master Calendar
– Coordinate with Marketing & Communications committee Chairs to maintain Communications Calendar and ensure that all communications are sent out as planned
– Ability to do triage when necessary and to maintain a sense of calm
– Proven ability to set priorities and work independently
– Availability to attend key (evenings) meetings and trainings, and to take notes
Hours and pay: This is a 20-hour a week position. 2-4 hours each week must be spent in TPC’s Cambridge-based office. All other hours are spent off-site. The Program Administrator will be paid as an independent contractor, at a rate of $20-25 per hour, depending upon experience.
