Provides direct services including case management and advocacy for Deaf, Hard of Hearing, and Deaf-Blind including Refugee Populations in the areas of vocation, life management, personal growth, and communication skill building in community settings, home residences and/or at job sites. Primary job is supporting DeafBlind persons who utilize Support Service Providers (SSP’s), coordinating, training and providing the service. Administers individual and group educational workshops, coordinates and facilitates community training and education classes and maintains necessary case records and client file documentation). Major emphasis is placed on providing services to Deaf-Blind individuals and coordinating, training, and scheduling Support Service Providers. Position may from time to time be stressful and require a high demand of performance. May perform other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s in Social Services or related field (6 years of directly related experience may substitute for Bachelor’s)
Fluency in American Sign Language
2 years of experience working with Deaf and Hard of Hearing individuals in a vocational or educational setting
Obtain State of Arizona Level One Fingerprint Clearance Cardand pass drug screening
Valid Arizona Driver License, proof of insurance and Arizona Motor Vehicle Division 39 month Motor Vehicle Report
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Master’s in Social Services or related field
Additional years of directly related experience
1 year of experience working in Rehabilitation
Certification in CPR and First Aid
Ability to work nights and/or weekends, if required
Proven ability to lift 50 lbs. 10% of the time
