Title: Program Manager, Faith and Community Affairs Department

Reports to: Executive Director

Role Overview:

The Cordoba Initiative (TCI) is seeking a full time Program Manager to run projects for its Faith and Community Affairs Department. The Program Manager will be responsible for managing the Muslim Leadership Training Program and the Cordoba Sunday School for Children and Youth program. The Program Manager will also be responsible for organizing planning and coordinating community and interfaith events. The Program Manager will interact with leaders within the Muslim and interfaith community including distinguished scholars, speakers, academics and members of the non-profit and corporate world. TCI is a multi-national, multi-faith organization founded in 2004 dedicated to improving Muslim-West relations.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

Oversee and implement the daily and long term operations of the Faith and Community Affairs Department.

Engage in strategic planning, development, execution and evaluation of programs.

Plan, coordinate, and manage community and interfaith events. Create and oversee accompanying budgets.

Serve as a liaison with other TCI departments, consultants, external co-organizers, and vendors.

Assist with grant writing and reporting.

Build relationships with leaders within the Muslim and interfaith community including distinguished scholars, speakers, academics and members of the non-profit and corporate world.

Research, write, and edit reports, papers, and presentations.

Organize and analyze data, identify key findings, and determine the best ways to communicate conclusions.

Supervise and manage program associates and interns.

Specific Duties:

Muslim Leadership Training Program (Once a week workshop)

Develop Business and Program Plan: Develop and monitor program budget, create outreach plan to institutions and individuals, research and write reports for funding agencies.

Execute Program Launch: Manage workshop and venue schedules, produce announcements and write-ups for program, provide logistical and administrative support.

Cordoba Sunday School for Children and Youth (Once a week )

Develop Business and Program Plan: Develop and monitor school plan and budget to ensure sustainability, develop marketing plan, create outreach plan to institutions and individuals, provide monthly reports to the board.

Execute School Launch: Coordinate and Manage instructor recruitment, provide logistical support for staff, parent, and student meetings, assist with development of school website.

May require work on occasional weekends (with compensation)

Event Planning

Oversee Muslim community-based and interfaith events, including holiday events

Serve as TCI representative to public and expand TCI’s support base

Oversee PR for events

Oversee database of TCI supporters

Experience, Skills, and Qualities:

Candidates for the Program Manager position should have the following work experiences, professional skills, and personal qualities:

B.A in business, management, public administration, communications, or related field

Advanced Degree in non-profit management, social work, or other related fields (preferred)

Two to four years of experience in non-profit program management or research. Will consider recent graduates with relevant background and skill set.

Familiarity and interest working with Muslim and interfaith communities including diverse spectrum of cultures, nationalities, religions,

Excellent writing and editorial skills.

Exceptional organizational and communication skills (verbal and written).

Experience with budgeting principles.

Experience with grant-writing (preferred).

Technical skills in Microsoft Suite.

Self-motivated and a team player.

Ability to manage multiple tasks and responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
