We work together across programs (addressing homelessness, affordable housing, and immigrant rights) to meet the diverse needs of our communities and collectively address the root causes of suffering and injustice.

Program and Position Summary:
San Francisco’s Mission District continues to undergo dramatic changes that result in the displacement of many low income communities, including SRO tenants. The purpose of the Mission SRO Collaborative is to organize with these tenants to protect housing stock, improve conditions, and fight for housing justice.

Program components include: Outreach, Tenant Stabilization (information and referral services, case management, code enforcement monitoring), and Community Programs—educational and leadership development workshops on topics such as fire prevention, disaster preparedness, code enforcement, tenant rights, and other housing justice issues. The program is primarily funded by the City’s Department of Building Inspection (DBI) as part of its Code Enforcement efforts.

The Collaborative is comprised of DSCS as the lead agency and fiscal agent, and includes Causa Justa::Just Cause, the Mission Neighborhood Resource Center, and the Women’s Community Clinic as partner agencies.
