The mission of the United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Foundation is to enrich experiences of future leaders in the world of business through life-long learning and support. The Foundation’s initiatives awaken and nurture the entrepreneurial spirit, support business growth, strengthen local chambers and foster leaders.
Position Summary
The United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (USHCC) Foundation Program Manager will report directly to USHCC Foundation Director and assist in developing, planning and conducting outreach for Foundation programs. The Core programs include the Chamber Training Institute, BizFest Youth Entrepreneurship Program, At the Table: Women in Business & Leadership and various scholarships. The program manager will also be responsible for developing and nurturing relationships with local chamber leaders in order to tailor programming to the needs of the small business community.
Essential Duties
Provide support for pre-event planning, event logistics, event outreach and other aspects of the Foundation’s daily activities
Create and manage social media for the Foundation
In collaboration with USHCC Communications Manager, draft and edit press releases on programs
Prepare and draft agendas, program schedules, and mass communication messages to chamber membership
Assist in local chamber management and expansion, including weekly calls to Chambers
Support and maintain the http://ushccfoundation.org website and CiviCRM membership database functionality. Support needs are divided into Tier 2 and Tier 3. This includes:
Tier 2 Support – Website Content Editor
Tier 3 Support – CiviCRM Administrator/Developer
Maintain database and manipulate database records manually when needed
Coordinate with sponsors on scholarship initiatives of the USHCC Foundation
Coordinate and monitor event timelines
Traveling will be required; Evening/weekend work may be required.
Qualifications
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
Ability to coordinate a variety of tasks simultaneously
Strong facilitation, interpersonal and presentation skills
Ability to work independently as well as to function effectively and collaboratively in a team environment
WordPress, Drupal, or Joomla! Experience preferred
HTML, CSS experience preferred but not required
CRM experience preferred but not required
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree required
A minimum of 2 years work experience in the area of program coordination or event management
