ABOUT CBST: Congregation Beit Simchat Torah (CBST) is a vibrant spiritual community and a progressive voice within Judaism. JOB SUMMARY: The Project Manager supports CBST projects including but not limited to: Capital Campaign, Annual Giving, database maintenance, reports, events, liaison to various committees and staff, and other tasks as called upon to assist the Directors of Development, Capital Campaign, and Finance. In addition, the Project Manager will research, analyze and propose innovations in administration and development to further institutional growth.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Updates and maintains donor database in conjunction with Communications Manager and Development Associate
Assists in financial data entry
Reports at regular intervals, and as called upon, on: capital and annual giving, events/programs, engagement, membership, and donorship.
Updates &/or provides content for relevant pages/forms on CBST’s website in collaboration with Communications Manager
Develops new hard copy and online registration/contribution/event forms.
Manages Capital Campaign invoicing in conjunction with Director of Development and bookkeeper.
Plans fundraising and development events for Capital and Annual giving, and collaborates with other staff and lay leaders on synagogue events
Drafts and sends (snailmail and email) Capital Campaign correspondence, including solicitation materials, pledge forms, and acknowledgement letters, maintaining accurate records of all communications, including reports from staff and lay leaders on verbal and email communications

EXPECTATIONS:
3-5 years of work experience in non-profit fundraising / development
Experience with event planning
Comfort with LGBTQ organization and constituency
Tech savvy, proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Publisher and database management experience – knowledge of ShulSuite a plus
Work at West Village office with anticipated move to West 30th Street, Chelsea in 2016, and be accessible via cell, text, email during reasonable hours, if needed
Attend certain Friday evening services and occasional Saturday mornings (scheduled with Supervisors) and work on some Jewish holidays, specifically Erev Rosh Hashanah + Morning Day One and on Kol Nidre and Yom Kippur morning (not eligible for OT)
