Planned Parenthood of Northern New England (PPNNE) is looking for a highly motivated, responsible, and outgoing candidate to fill a full time (37.5hrs/wk) Public Affairs Organizer position to work on a ground breaking project to reduce abortion stigma in Maine through face-to-face conversations. These field organizers will work under the supervision of the Maine Public Affairs Coordinator to implement a robust and exciting field plan that includes recruiting, training and developing volunteer leadership teams and support overall actions and goals of the public affairs department in Maine. Other duties include working on specific legislative issues which arise as well as strategizing for long term community action team building. Ideal applicants will have solid written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills, be flexible for evening and weekend hours, and have a car and driver’s license and the ability to travel throughout Maine. Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree plus 2 years of relevant experience or a combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge has been acquired.
