A part-time position is now available with a renowned consulting firm in New York City, specializing in fundraising strategy and major donor research. We work with a variety of nonprofits from arts organizations to hospitals to human services. This position is ideal for recent graduates considering work in fundraising or philanthropy or under-graduate or graduate students looking for part-time work. You will get a solid introduction to standard research programs and techniques.

Job Description
The Research and Administrative Assistant performs various administrative duties that support fundraising efforts and the smooth functioning of the office. This position demands judgment and professionalism. He or she will be involved in short and long-term projects related to fundraising research and strategy, social media tasks and email, phone and in-person interactions with clients.

Responsibilities
Assist the organization in internet research and prospecting of potential individual and corporate donors.
Manage multiple databases (researching donor records, generating reports, preparing data entries etc.)
Complete day-to-day tasks associated with web site updates, expense reimbursements, phone calls and voicemail, client questions, PowerPoint presentations, computer troubleshooting and additional duties as assigned.
Help maintain the President’s calendar and schedule appointments. Support the planning and execution of meetings, providing logistical support. As directed, assemble materials, data, reports, etc., in preparation for meetings and programs.
Prepare and support the timely dissemination of clear and professional written internal and external communication.
Maintain an organized and efficient office through everyday purchases and keep track of office inventory.

Required Skills/Experience
Bachelor’s degree; experience and/or interest in supporting development/fundraising, public relations, communications studies, and/or working in the nonprofit sector preferred by not required.
Some graduate work is a plus.
Fluency in English, excellent communication skills.
Strong writing and editing skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite necessary.
Familiarity with Raisers Edge software, Photoshop, Dreamweaver, SPSS and/or equivalent programs preferred, but not required.
Tech savvy/experience with applications such as MailChimp and Google Analytics is a plus.
Highly organized and flexible; very attentive to detail.
Ability to efficiently manage multiple projects simultaneously and with consistency and accuracy.
Demonstrated initiative and follow-through with a keen sense of urgency.
Strong time management and organizational skills.
Goal-oriented and ability to meet large goals and deadlines effectively.
Cultural competence.
Self-motivated/starter.

Time Commitment
2-3 days per week, with a flexible schedule, starting immediately. Additional hours possible. Applicant must be available to work Wednesday and Friday evenings this Fall to assist with the President’s teaching assignments at universities in New York City.
