RESPONSIBILITIES
Quickly acquires a deep understanding of why corporations should exhibit at the ASCB meeting and why they should support various activities throughout the year.
Drives increased sale volume, which is currently in the 7-figure range.
Sells annual meeting exhibit space to pharmaceutical companies, lab suppliers, and biotech companies. Manages increased level of exhibitor participation and the highest standards of customer satisfaction.
Is creative, energetic and responsible for identifying support opportunities for initiatives for revenue generation, assisting with the development of new business and for managing membership development throughout the year.
Sells advertising in ASCB’s three publications: Molecular Biology of the Cell (MBoC), CBE—Life Sciences Education (LSE) and The ASCB Newsletter, both print and online.
Partners with the marketing department to develop robust marketing, advertising and promotional materials.
Assist the Business Development Director with forecasting and managing budgetary resources in accordance with ASCB policy and ethical corporate governance guidelines.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum 5 years’ experience.
Successful sales professional who has demonstrated the ability to grow sales volume.
Understands high-level, high-touch, white-glove customer care and can deliver a seamless, high quality experience for customers by consistently exceeding their expectations.
Ability to speak the language of corporations and grasp the underlying science.
Experience working in sales related to the biosciences industry before (particularly for companies who provide supplies to biomedical research laboratories).
Demonstrates an interest in the mission of the ASCB and the ability to communicate the value proposition of ASCB to your clients.
Able to penetrate new markets through scanning of internal and external environments.
Has solid experience utilizing a CRM database for managing sales and business development leads.
Polished, intellectually curious and able to articulate and implement a plan for revenue growth with gravitas.
Works well under pressure and on tight deadlines maintaining professional relationships with colleagues at all time.
