Sitkans Against Family Violence (SAFV) is hiring a full-time School Program Coordinator to assist the Prevention Director in the implementation and evaluation of primary prevention programs within SAFV, the schools and the surrounding community of Sitka, AK. This position will work primarily in the schools to implement programs that help contribute to a positive school climate and provide youth with healthy relationships skills. Basic understanding of domestic violence/sexual assault and primary prevention; excellent verbal, written and organizational skills; attention to detail; planning, evaluating, and teaching/presentation skills preferred. Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc; media/publishing software skills a plus. Go to www.safv.org for a detailed job description. SAFV is an EOE.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Provide personal safety presentations for pre-school through 5th grade.
Provide and/or support healthy relationships courses for secondary schools as well as alternative youth program settings as needed.
Develop and maintain relationships with school professionals and service agency partners.
Compile highlights from evaluation findings for all school-based programs into one-page snapshots for local and statewide distribution.
Assist with quarterly reports.
