Senior Associate for Digital Campaigns – Cambridge – Unitarian Universalist Service Committee

Summary:

The Senior Associate for Digital Campaigns plays a collaborative role in the development of the online advocacy and engagement communications strategy for the agency, and assists in guiding its implementation through campaigns. Using the organizational strategic plan goals as a guide, the position cultivates new constituents and engages a growing online audience.

As part of a digital media team, the role utilizes multi-channel online methods including, but not limited to, social media, email, video, and websites. Exclusive to the role is bringing expert knowledge to advise in the development of a stakeholder-driven coordinated plans to grow and strengthen our online communities, build brand awareness, and provide for a rich conversation between the agency and constituents.

The position reports to the Associate Director of Communications and Knowledge Management, but works closely with colleagues across the organization to develop and achieve shared communications goals.

Responsibilities

Collaborate in the development, from brainstorming through execution, integrated and comprehensive digital media campaigns derived from our programmatic work, that are focused on enhanced user/visitor engagement, as well as optimization and growth of digital channels, including email lists, website and social media properties.
Work closely with staff across departments to coordinate and bring expert knowledge in the development of collaborative, interdepartmental, multi-channel messaging plans to meet agency’s advocacy, engagement and branding goals.
Collaborate with the Associate for Online Content and the Public Relations Specialist in the area of social media, email strategy implementation, and brand awareness.
In collaboration with advocacy and engagement roles in other departments, leads the development of UUSC’s e-mail marketing program and engagement and advocacy-related portions of the website, to increase engagement in UUSC advocacy appeals, improve online fundraising campaigns, and drive online to offline conversion.
Monitor integration of messaging content across platforms; identify and pursue opportunities in relation to advocacy and engagement for further integration as needed with supervision and collaboration from the Associate Director of Communications and Knowledge Management.
Provide strategic communications support to UUSC’s policy and advocacy initiatives.
Analyze campaigns and translate anecdotal or qualitative data into recommendations and plans.
Set monthly and annual goals and develop a framework for tracking, evaluating, and optimizing campaign performance and engagement
Build and maintain external relationships, including with vendors, partner organizations, and other allies, to advance constituent engagement goals and projects.
Assume other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience.
Direct experience in social media platforms as well as in developing and managing online campaigns.
In-depth knowledge and understanding of email strategy and social media platforms.
Experience with Google Analytics and other social media metrics tools.
Demonstrated experience developing engaging digital media content, working closely within a collaborative, creative team.
Excellent written and visual communication skills and ability to message quickly and effectively.
Experience monitoring and
responding to social media user input.
High level of competence in use and knowledge of CRM-driven advocacy and 
fundraising tools required.
Strong knowledge of social media sites, strategies, and tools required.
Adobe Photoshop, HTML, CSS, Drupal, WordPress, and NationBuilder skills are a strong plus.
Ability to multi-task effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment required.
Microsoft Office skills required.
SEO, SEM, knowledge/experience a plus.
Bachelor’s Degree in communications, public relations, marketing, web design, or a 
related discipline required. Master’s Degree preferred.
Working knowledge of and passion for UUSC’s human rights mission.
