Senior Community Engagement Associate – The Children’s Partnership

DESCRIPTION
The Children’s Partnership is seeking a highly motivated professional to help drive TCP’s agenda to provide every child a bright future through strategies that are informed by families, educators, and community-based organizations. Under the direction of the Senior Director of Communications & External Affairs, the Senior Community Engagement Associate will be responsible for leading TCP’s campaigns, including ALL IN for Health, Let’s Talk, and Health4All Kids. This position will work with the TCP team to build on the lessons learned and relationships built through these campaigns to inform our policy work and further the reach of our community engagement efforts.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Works closely with the Senior Director to increase TCP’s visibility, involvement, and support of community organizations and coalitions engaged in issues impacting child health equity and access to opportunity.
Coordinate the day-to-day activities, manage, and serve as point person on all aspects of outreach campaigns.
Plan and lead regular strategy & operation meetings with the internal team and external partners.
Coordinate and track campaign and other community engagement activities.
Help develop & implement advocacy strategies inclusive of community members & stakeholders to advance policy impacts, barriers, and solutions.
Manage organization and communication systems to sustain community partnerships and relationships & maintain ongoing outreach.
Work with statewide and local partners to develop collaborative strategies and manage desired outcomes.
Build new relationships and coordinate TCP’s efforts to engage with additional community-based organizations.
Draft select materials and work with TCP staff in developing & implementing communications strategies.
Organize TCP participation at local community events and statewide conferences and meetings and deliver presentations on TCP’s advocacy and community engagement efforts.
Monitor national and state developments around health coverage and care outreach activities and provide support in linking policy and systems changes with community-level needs.
Work with TCP team to complete funding proposals and reporting requirements to funders and others.

QUALIFICATIONS
Ability to work collaboratively with a diversity of individuals at all levels as well as independently
·Excellent oral communication, public speaking, writing, research, project management & analysis skills
Ability to communicate complex information to a broad range of audiences
Flexible team player who thrives in fast-paced environments that require ability to effectively prioritize & juggle multiple projects simultaneously with a high level of attention to detail
Highly adaptable, mobile, positive, resilient, patient risk-taker who is open to new ideas
Ability to think strategically and provide thoughtful input to a broad range of internal and external contacts across all levels of management
Capacity to work evenings and weekends
Possession of California driver’s license, insurance, and regular access to a car
Knowledge of health policy & children’s health issues

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree; Master’s preferred
At least three (3) years experience (5 preferred) in social/health policy, advocacy, and/or related field
Strong track record in developing and managing relationships with stakeholders
Experience in building consensus and successfully leading coalition efforts
Bilingual capacity, a plus
Commitment to and experience with nonprofit organizations
